It all begins with an idea.
In 2018, three experienced rugby players and one very non rugby player approached Rugby WA and Curtin University Goats to form an inclusive rugby union team in Perth. A couple of pints later, a new rugby club was established!
Curtin University Goats continues to play an active and instrumental part in Perth Rams’ development. Perth Rams compete in the Rugby WA Senior Men’s Grade Championship under the umbrella of Curtin University Goats. Both clubs train together during season.
The club continues to develop. From 24 boys attending the very first Have A Try session, Perth Rams now have over 60 active members, in just over 2 years!
In 2019, the club reached a pivotal moment when Perth Rams traveled to Brisbane and competed for the first time as an independent club at Purchas Cup, Australasian’s biennial rugby tournament between the region’s International Gay Rugby (IGR) clubs.
