The IGR NorAm Cup, also known as the North America Championship, is IGR’s biennial inclusive rugby tournament for the region. It is hosted by a different member club and city across Canada, the United States or Mexico, in the years between Bingham Cups.

North America’s place to be for inclusivity

The IGR North American Championship, or NorAm Cup, is a major tournament for the LGBTQ+ and inclusive rugby community in North America. Organised by an IGR club chosen by the membership, it was inaugurated in 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Like the Bingham Cup internationally and the Union Cup in Europe, and also held every two years, the NorAm Cup promotes inclusivity, diversity and camaraderie within rugby across North America, bringing together LGBTQ+ teams and allies to compete in a spirit of sportsmanship and celebration.

It gives teams a platform to show their skill, athleticism and dedication while building a sense of community, acceptance and respect. It emphasises the values of inclusivity and equality in sport, so that LGBTQ+ players can enjoy rugby in a welcoming environment.

The NorAm Cup reflects the commitment of IGR and its North American member clubs to create a space where everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, can enjoy rugby and help build a positive, inclusive culture.
