Washington Renegrades RFC

The Washington Renegades is a men’s rugby union football club.

We are a member of the Capital Rugby Union (CRU), USA Rugby (USAR) and a founding member of International Gay Rugby (IGR).

We field competitive sides in the Mid-Atlantic Conference (MAC) of USAR in Division III and Division IV and participate in the IGR Championship — the Mark Bingham Cup — every two years. The Renegades have won the CRU and MAC Championships in D3 and D4, been to the USAR Final Four and are the current IGR North America East champions.

The Club provides a solid rugby and social experience for both seasoned players and newcomers to the sport.

All are welcome to play for the Renegades. We are a diverse mix of people from the D.C. Metropolitan area welcoming players regardless of sexual orientation, race, ethnicity or income.

Mission

Our mission is to learn, teach and play rugby; to forge new friendships and celebrate others’ differences; and to give back to our supportive communities through charitable and educational activities.

We are committed to the ethics of inclusion, mutual respect and consideration, fair and safe play on the field and providing a harassment-free sporting environment.
