The Orlando Otters RFC was established in December 2021 as the first inclusive, LGBTQ2IA+ rugby football club in the state of Florida. Although other clubs have existed in Florida, none were considered to be inclusive with the mission of #rugby4all. We strive to maintain a safe place for our membership, as well as spectators and supporters alike, where harassment, discrimination, and homophobia are not tolerated.The Orlando Otters RFC exists to provide a commitment of ethical behavior and integrity for all people, regardless of race, creed, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other descriptors of who you are as an individual. We believe in one thing – coming together as a team to play rugby. When we say that all are welcome, we mean that ALL are welcome. Many of our founding team members had little to no rugby experience, which is something that is still the case for the majority of our newer members. We strive to continue our goal of inclusivity through sport, providing a space that is fun and challenging to our members, whether experienced or not.Even if rugby isn’t for you, we’d love to have you on the sidelines supporting us at matches or supporting us at fundraising events. And if you can’t physically support us at matches or events, you can always provide financial support to our club for team travel and lodging at away matches.
