Liverpool Tritons RUFC

Tritons RUFC was formed in 2016 as Merseyside’s first Inclusive Rugby Team. Since then we have played across the UK and at international tournaments in Amsterdam and Dublin. We are a member of Lancashire RFU and an affiliate member of IGR (International Gay Rugby).

The club welcomes both experienced players and new players. Players of all fitness levels are welcome. The Rugby Union team provides a safe and welcoming space for gay, bisexual, straight and trans men; our newly-launched O2 Touch Rugby team welcomes players of all genders to a social sport without the full-contact of rugby union.

We currently have three Level 2 qualified coaches and employ a Head Coach, Mark Williams. New players are taught the basics and encouraged to learn by joining in, with a patient team behind them helping them through their first few training sessions and games.

In the first two months of the Tritons, 16 players played their first ever games of rugby. Now we play in the IGR UK League (Northern Division) against other inclusive teams, and increasingly in friendly games against mainstream local clubs.

We currently have about over 40 active players and we welcome new players throughout the season. We update our Facebook page with the events, and this is the best way of contacting the club (Via Facebook Messenger).

Training is every Wednesday at 7pm, Jericho Lane Football Hub, L17 5AR. Please contact us if you plan on attending so we can make sure you have a great time.
