Jozi Cats

Welcome to Jozi Cats![spacer height=”20px”]

We became Africa’s first gay and inclusive competitive rugby club in 2015 where anyone regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression can enjoy the game of rugby in a safe space whether as a player, official or spectator.[spacer height=”20px”]

Jozi Cats caters for experienced players and adult beginners in both touch and contact rugby, as well as representing South Africa in international gay inclusive rugby as the only club in Africa that belongs to the IGR, the global organisation for gay and inclusive rugby.[spacer height=”20px”]

Our sights are set firmly on growing gay and inclusive rugby within Jozi Cats Rugby Club and the rest of the country, while ensuring we remain a safe and harassment-free environment for everyone who shares the values.[spacer height=”20px”]

Jozi Cats is a people organisation first, a sports association second and a community change-maker third working in local, rugby, LGBTI* and member communities using the language of rugby for engagement.[spacer height=”20px”]

Jozi Cats is an NPO (NPO 169-144) and will soon have its Section 18A status meaning all sponsorships will be tax-deductible.
